The SupaJam Foundation supports Storm to work at Glastonbury 2025

‘When I’m older I would love to be an artist and sing on stage; to be an inspiration for those who have disabilities. There’s no such thing as can’t. Anyone can do anything.’

Storm, 18, has been attending the SupaJam music college in Brighton and pushing themselves to grow as an artist. When they first joined the college, they had no real confidence in their capabilities; they just knew that they wanted to pursue their creative passion.

After being selected in their second year to perform at the Americana festival Black Deer in 2024, Storm’s self belief started to blossom, and when they heard about an opportunity to apply for paid work experience at one of the biggest festivals in the world, they didn’t hesitate.

Supported by the mentoring programme run by the SupaJam Foundation, and mentored by one of the foundation’s Trustees and joint CEO of the SupaJam college David Court, Storm began in intense application and interview process that tested their employability and commitment. But with the support of their mentor, and knowing that the SupaJam Foundation would support them further by paying for their travel to and from the festival, Storm worked tirelessly to prepare alongside over one hundred other young people also applying for the same position.

“Being mentored by David was an honour. It’s not every day that a CEO comes along and says ‘I’m going to help you get this’. Then the email came, ‘Dear Storm, we are so happy to confirm your position at Glastonbury’ and I was like, oh my gosh! They want me to be a part of their team! I literally jumped up around and told everyone around college and was like, wow, this is amazing news! I may be doing a couple of things I’ve never done before, but even so, I just have to try it. I will come out with a lot of experience, probably some friends, and I will have a lovely time. I’m so excited!’

Storm’s journey continues at Glastonbury in June working at the Rum Shack in The Common, and we can’t wait to hear all about this life changing experience in full.
